Overnight: Hotel- Addis Ababa

Early morning you will fly with Ethiopian airlines to Semera, from Semera airport your driver will pick you up and drive to Hamedila where you will start your actual adventure of Danakil depression. Lunch will be in Afdera where the heat starts, salt mining takes places. You will keep going down to one of the lowest points on the planet, and enjoy your first night without a roof, counting thousands of stars.

Overnight: camping Hamedila

This will be another amazing day, around 5am you will drive to Dallol; you will enjoy the most colorful ground covered with Salt, pottash, Sulphur and many other minerals, that combine to make you feel like you are in another plant, continue the excursions to salt mountains, bubbling water and salt mining area.
In the afternoon, drive to Erta Ale to sleep on the basement of Erta Ale volcano, after walking on the edge of the volcano. Around 6:30 pm you will walk about 20 minutes from the campsite to see the volcano.

Overnight: Camping Erta Ale

Early in the morning, for second time you will walk to the volcano during the sunrise and then drive to Semera, en route stop at Lake Afdera for nice swimming on the hot springs to clean all the two days tiredness. Late afternoon you will fly back to Addis Ababa.

This day in the morning you will fly to Jinka; after you have arrived in Jinka you will be driven to Turmi to visit Hamer village. The Hamer tribe is one of the largest groups in the Valley. The Hamer women are simply stunning the wear beaded necklaces and iron coils around their arms and decorate their skin with cowry shells. These decorations indicate the wealth and prestige of a woman’s husband.

This day in the morning you will drive to visit the Karo ethnic group, experts in body painting, using clay and locally available vegetable pigments to paint fantastic patterns on each other’s faces, chests, arms and legs.

Then after visiting Karo tribe you will continue to visit Nyangatom tribe; who are famous for their elaborate jewelry and embroideries. The Nyangatom are pastoralists but some that live along the Omo River are engaged in farming. Their diet consists of meat, milk, and some grain, and wild fruits.After having Lunch in Turmi you will drive to Jinka.

Early in morning drive to Mago National Park, from here, visit the Mursi highlands where the most illustrious of Ethiopia’s unique tribes’ lives. The Mursi are known all over the world, for their decorative lip plates that adorn the lower lips of the Mursi women.
After lunch you will be driven to Jinka airport to catch a flight to Addis Ababa;
At night we will go out to one of the best cultural restaurants for the Farewell Dinner at traditional restaurant with live traditional dances program. Then, we will transfer to airport for flight home.
